My name is Addisyn Sanders, I am 16 years old from Wharton, Texas and a junior at El Campo High School. I have been involved in the livestock industry and showing cattle since I was 8 years old. My love for showing started after participating with bucket calves. I enjoyed working with my calf and the experience so much that I knew I wanted to continue showing and become more involved in the livestock industry.
I am a member of Wharton County 4-H, where I have continued to grow my knowledge and skills in showing and caring for livestock. One of my biggest accomplishments has been winning Supreme Champion Heifer at the Houston Calf Scramble Progress Show. That accomplishment was especially meaningful to me because of the time, hard work, and dedication that went into preparing my heifer.
Outside of the show ring, I also enjoy barrel racing. Both showing cattle and barrel racing have taught me the importance of dedication, patience, responsibility, and building a strong partnership with an animal. I enjoy being able to compete, learn from every experience, and continue improving.
Being involved in the livestock industry has given me many opportunities to meet new people, make lifelong memories, and learn valuable lessons that I will carry with me throughout my life. I am proud to be part of the agriculture community and hope to continue being involved in the livestock industry for many years to come.
